Little time is left to make those year-end tax deductible donations …

A man on vacation was taking a leisurely stroll outside his hotel in Acapulco, enjoying the sunny Mexican weather, when he was suddenly startled by the screams of a woman kneeling in front of a panicking child.

The man knew enough Spanish to determine that the child had swallowed a coin. The man ran to the scene and, seizing the child by the heels, he held up the boy and gave him a few shakes. The boy coughed and out of his mouth popped an American quarter that dropped to the sidewalk.

“Oh, thank you sir!” cried the woman. “You seemed to know just how to get it out of him. Are you a doctor?”

“No, ma’am,” replied the man. “I work for the United States Internal Revenue Service.”

Our government certainly does know how to get our money out of us!

With the end of the year fast approaching, many people are thinking about making year-end donations to non-profit organizations to provide support as well as part of their own tax strategy as they consider the benefits of tax deductible donations. As you consider any year-end giving during December, Scott Free Clinic would greatly appreciate your considering this ministry in your end-of-year donations. Not only would any donation be a real help to this ministry, but all donations made to Scott Free Clinic are tax deductible.
