How to lack nothing …

Math was my worst subject in school. Since then, I’ve discovered mathematics to be far more fascinating than I ever thought back then.

I still stay far from it!

But let me share one little mathematical tidbit.

If the sum of all the divisors of a number is equal to the number itself, it is called a “perfect” number. Divisors are those numbers that “go into” another number. An example is the number 6: Its divisors are 1, 2, and 3 which, when added together, equal 6. The next perfect number is 28, then 496.

This math tidbit reminds me that all kinds of things “go into” our lives. Some are good, some not so good, and some are just terrible. But there’s only one thing that goes into our lives that make us “perfect” or “complete,” and that is Jesus Christ.

So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. – Colossians 2:10

When Christ is in you, you’re complete! In God’s eyes, you’re perfect, although the Holy Spirit will work on “perfecting” you throughout your lifetime. But when Christ is in you, there is nothing lacking in reconciling you fully in your relationship with God, and nothing lacking in your capacity to be exactly who God intended you to be.

If you want to lack nothing, you’ll need Christ in you. Is that your reality today?
