God hasn’t moved …

There’s a story about an elderly couple who were driving along a dirt road on their farm in their old pickup truck when the wife said, “We never sit all snuggled up in the truck like we used to.”

The husband looked at her and said, “I haven’t moved.”

Sometimes the distance in our relationships has more to do with our own incremental movements than those of others.

And sometimes individuals, or even churches, feel like they aren’t as close to God as they used to be. But God hasn’t moved.

“Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world,” James 4:8.
