A SFC Resource: A synthesis of research for understanding the church, it’s leadership, and Christians …

The information age has provided us with an unprecedented flood of data. Every week, it seems, another organization releases a new survey or study about the state of the American church, the challenges facing its leaders, or the beliefs of its members. We are constantly bombarded with statistics and findings from sources like Gallup, Pew, Barna Group, and others. But with this persistent stream of information, it can be difficult to discern a coherent narrative. How do we make sense of all these individual data points? What’s the bigger picture that can be drawn from all the research?

To gain a clearer understanding of this landscape, Scott Free Clinic undertook a comprehensive synthesis of the most current research available. Drawing on publicly available data from several reliable research organizations, we have created a single report that provides a holistic view of the American church, its leaders, and its members.

Our aim with this project was not to conduct new research, but rather to bring together existing findings into one cohesive document. This report is a compilation of data from various sources, offering a synthesized perspective on the trends and challenges shaping the American church, its leaders, and the practice of the Christian faith. We believe this synthesis provides valuable context and insight that can help us all better understand the current reality.

Our report, titled A Synthesis of Research Regarding the American Church, Its Leaders, and Christians, is now available. We encourage anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of this complex topic to request a copy.
