I sometimes ask people, “Is Jesus Christ a liar?”

The facial expressions of the people asked that question are always interesting to watch.

Then I explain …

Jesus promised His followers a peace that is real and very different from anything we can find elsewhere:

“I am leaving you with a gift — peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid,” John 14:27.

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world,” John 16:33.

However, if you look in many churches today (and certainly in the communities around them), you find very few people who are experiencing the kind of peace Jesus talks about.

So is Jesus a liar?

No!

If we’re not experiencing the kind of peace Jesus says we can have, the problem is on our end, not with Him. With that in mind, more than eight years ago the international ministry of Scott Free Clinic (SFC) was launched with the specific intent of helping people change their lives so they really can discover the peace of Christ. Our mission is stated concisely: Helping people become whole persons in Christ, and churches to become effective disciple-making churches. To carry out our mission, SFC tries to provide a variety of resources beneficial to helping people in various ways, but especially to grow and live as faithful and obedient disciples of Jesus Christ. PRINTED AND READING RESOURCES
“Discipling Christians with the Spiritual T.E.A.M.” is a workbook we offer as a FREE download that features six months of disciple-training materials featuring a 13-week Rookie Season and an optional 13-week Veteran Season. All of the instructions for either leading or participating in a Spiritual T.E.A.M. are contained in the workbook. This training can be used in a one-on-one setting and is also effective in small groups. You can find this workbook as a FREE download here.

“40 Days of Living the Way” is a book that was written as part of a custom-designed 40-day spiritual adventure provided to a local church who engaged SFC for our consulting services to provide a complete and comprehensive “spiritual adventure” program crafted just for them. But the book is just as beneficial to anyone else who would like to engage in a new spiritual adventure! The book can be used by individuals, couples, families, small groups, or as an all-church adventure. If a church would like to use it, we can re-brand the book for the church, and if you would like us to help you with a total program as we did in making this adventure, we can do that as well. TRAINING FOR RELATIONAL EVANGELISM
Decades ago I was blessed to be trained in how to use a highly effective evangelistic tool (originally called “A Peace Treaty With God,” now renamed “The Answers”, paired with a very simple approach to relational evangelism. Since then, using this evangelistic tool and training, I’ve personally led hundreds of people to Christ and have introduced this training to multiple churches to help them become effective disciple-making churches. Many others were trained to use The Answers and it has been used to share the Gospel all around the world, with hundreds of thousands responding to the Gospel message. A few years ago, SFC served for a year as a consultant to the originator of the The Answers, who at the time was offering this training as an eight-week online training program through Hope International University. I wrote a book for that course, called “Effective Disciple-Making for the 21st Century using the IAAR” – you can find that book here. The Answers evangelistic tool and method is the most effective evangelistic tool and method of relational evangelism I have seen in my time as a minister and Christian. SFC would be happy to provide information to any person or church about this training, or to consult with churches about it. Also, FREE online, on-demand training in how to effectively use The Answers to share the Gospel is provide by the YouShare ministry on their website at https://www.yousharejesus.org and you can download The Answers for free from that website.

Additionally, pastor Darrin Ronde developed a children’s version of The Answers called “Joining God’s Family.” This is a very effective way of sharing the Gospel with children. SFC can provide you a download of this if you email me with a request (my email address is provided below).

COUNSELING RESOURCES
Sometimes there are issues in our lives that need counseling care to help us grow in our wholeness of life and actually affect our walk with God. To help, SFC provides comprehensive Christian clinical counseling and advanced coaching for anyone, as well as Pastor Care, which is clinical counseling specifically for vocational and bi-vocational ministers. We also offer world-class brain health coaching from my education and certification as a Dr. Daniel Amen certified Brain Health Professional.

CONSULTING
Our consulting services have included helping a church with a re-visioning project to become a disciple-making church, developing the “40 Days of Living the Way” program for a local church, consulting with the Chair of World Evangelism at Hope International University, consulting with churches in Malawi and Tanzania, and other projects around the world, and assisting church leaders in resolving church conflicts.
